Well I woke up Monday morning
Got my daughter ready for school
Made sure her shoes were on the right feet
Got her backpack packed up with her lunch
And we walked down to the bus stop early
But it didn’t show up
And she said what do we do
So I drove down to school
The security guard met me at the door
He said didn’t you read the sign
You can’t come in here much more
Said until further notice just stay at home
What do we do
We got a serious case of the Coronavirus blues
So I figured it was bring your daughter to work day every day
So I set her up in a cubicle with some sticky notes
A pencil and erasers and a couple other things too
The boss came down in about half an hour
And said didn’t you get the memo
You gotta work remotely until further notice
We got a serious case of the Coronavirus blues
So I figured
If I had to bring my daughter home and work remotely
I better go to the grocery store and get
A roll of toilet paper and a couple bottles of booze
But line was out the door
And they wouldn’t let more
Than a couple people on the floor at a time
Wear a mask at the same time
Sold out of everything when I finally got in line
We got a serious case of the Coronavirus blues
So I figured if I ain’t gonna get any work done
I better just go down to the local watering hole
And have a couple beers,
A shot of whiskey or two, maybe more
But they wouldn’t let me in the door
They said you gotta sit out side on the floor
They got a serious case of the Coronavirus blues
What do you do huh
So I figured on Sunday morning
I’d go down to the local worshiping place
And I’d go and say a prayer or two
But they wouldn’t let me through.
The pastor met me at the door from afar
With a megaphone He said
God can’t save you
We got a serious case of the Coronavirus blues
So they let a couple of my friends out of jail the other day
I saw them and said
You got out about a decade early or two.
I said let me guess,
They said a lot of our other friends are out too,
They let them all out on the same day
We got a serious case of the Coronavirus blues
