During the spring of 1993 I was herding sheep with the Dineh family of Micheal and Rita Babbit-Lane. They were in their 90's at the time and it was very difficult for them to keep the BIA and Hopi Rangers from seizing their sheep each week for auction. So I stayed there for a while to make sure when they showed up, they knew they were being documented. I had a camera with no film, but it was enough to make them leave each time. There is a huge problem on the Navajo Reservation regarding Uranium, tailings, production and poisoning, which has affected 85000 Navajo people thus far, and counting... including me. This is about that. It’s so unconscionable that this is continuing to happen within the United States, as one of the largest cover-ups in our current time. Peabody Coal Company finally closed their mine but the damage remains.
