Obliteration

This one goes out to the one’s I love, that includes Stevie Wonder. Inspired by his sweet melodies, on another rainy walk home from the ferry this came to me as an angel singing through me, and I had to re-write Obliteration Within A Dream into this. It’s basically just a summary of that song, with another poem The Good Red Road I wrote in Arizona in the ‘90’s thrown in the middle.  For the longest time I wondered what this song was really about. I thought it may be a love song, but tragic at that. Last week when I was talking with Joy it came to understanding that this song is actually about death, and the grieving process that goes along with the loss of a loved one.

The time obliterates us 
Asking only for your remembrance 
Your sorrow 
And other tomorrow

A day to reap, a day to sow 
The code chastises me into a memory 

Something I’ve been looking for
